Review
This is a quick review
eBoostrâ„¢, working as an alternative solution to ReadyBoost and SuperFetch technologies, implements a different advanced approach to use flash memory to speed up your computer.
It speeds up your PC and improves application responsiveness by using flash memory and free RAM as an extra layer of performance-boosting cache for your PC. Use up to four inexpensive flash devices to speed up your system.
The following full-length review applies to version 2.0
eBoostr is an alternative to enhace the performance of your PC, emulating the features of the ReadyBoost technology (used in Windows Vista) and SuperFetch.
It works like an extension of the RAM memory, acting as a cache (it saves the information in your hard drives that you have to access quite often - like your daily applications and files - in a fast-access zone named cache).
You definitely get the best results when using a flash drive instead of creating a cache device, which is RAM-based.
The program works great on laptop computers, because it reduces the number of disk accesses, thus saving considerably the battery autonomy.
Be aware, because when you install this product, you will need to reboot your computer in order to start the eBoostr service that is installed at first time.
This product does not work yet under Windows Vista (it just works under Windows XP), however in that case I think it's better to take advantage of their native Ready Boost technology.
The overall result is amazing, it really surprised me. Give it a try, and tell me what you think! |
